Transition Year students “show racism the red card”.

Show racism the red card project was created by Transition year students in Mulroy College under the leadership of Ms Maria Ryan.  Having worked on class activities they then watched the Show Racism the Red card DVD which informed students as to how others saw racism, ways in which it occurs, and what people can do about it.

Students became aware that many of us discriminate against others without even realising it.  As a result the students were more conscious of comments they were making and comments being made by other people outside of the classroom. Through discussion we realised that there are many nationalities within our school but they are all treated as one.
