A welcome message from our Principal Ms Fiona Temple

I would like to welcome you to Mulroy College and to our website for a look at the diversity of opportunity and range of experiences our students receive.

Mulroy College operates under the trusteeship of Donegal Education and Training Board (ETB). ETB schools are state, co-educational, multi-denominational schools that underpin the core values of excellence in education, care, respect, community and equality.

Mulroy College endeavours to provide all students with equal opportunities to engage with the curriculum and school life. In all aspects of school life all members of our school community are treated equitably regardless of their race, gender, religion/belief, age, family status, civil status, membership of the Traveller community, sexual orientation, ability or socio-economic status.

Our schools provide a safe physical and social environment that reinforces a sense of belonging to the school community and wider society. We encourage our students and parents to become actively involved in the social, cultural, intellectual and sporting life of the school through our Student Council and Parents’ Association. We value the active engagement and cooperation of our parents. Together we will realise the students’ full potential.

We have a very high standard of education in Mulroy College and offer students all available programmes: Junior Certificate, Junior Certificate Schools Programme, Transition Year, Leaving Certificate, Leaving Certificate Applied and Leaving Cert Vocational Programme.

We have a great history in providing high quality education catering for individual needs and preparing young people for the world of opportunities post secondary education.

Our success rate for students progressing to Higher and Further Education is extremely high. We encourage students to aim high and work hard to achieve academic success.

Our core values of Excellence in Education, Care, Respect, Community and Equality are at the core of everything that we do. We pride ourselves in the high standards of education we provide. Our teaching staff in particular are extremely dedicated and hard working ensuring all students strive for academic success.

We nurture and care for our students. We pride ourselves in the individual care and support they receive during their time in Mulroy College and this is evident each day in the relationships between staff and students in their daily interactions.

Although we confidently focus on the traditional virtues of good behaviour, self-discipline and hard work, we have a huge reputation for looking after our students.  All our staff are trained in Restorative Practices and we use these methods whenever conflict or disagreement arises. In this way we do not judge individuals and only look at their behaviours and how behaviours affect others and the school community. We bring people together and help them repair any harm and restore relationships.

We also offer a huge array of activities and extracurricular opportunities outside of the classroom.  Please take the time to read our prospectus which will also give you an insight into the successful, innovative, caring and dynamic school community that exists in Mulroy College.

As Principal I am proud to lead this community every day and am ably assisted by two Deputy Principals, Ms Amanda Quinn and Mr David Mc Hale. I am proud of the incredibly dedicated staff that work tirelessly to ensure all students reach their individual success.

Mostly, I am proud of the students that we have the pleasure and privilege to work with everyday. Our students are what make our school and as Principal I remain committed to them, to their education, to their social and personal needs and to their well being.

Thank you for taking the time to read this and I welcome you to browse our website to gain an insight into our vibrant school community.
